We just shot this room that I recently completed for a client.
It’s one of my favorite rooms in one of my favorite homes.
There are cozy spaces in different parts of the house.
Spaces to read, stretch out (there is a fireplace to the right-hidden in this photo) and spaces to be quiet in.
There is no television in this room. Nor in the adjacent sunroom. My client has a wonderful collection of books. Some signed editions and some important volumes. I love that he reads and it’s not just for show.
I chose:
New Tibetan Oriental wool and silk carpet from Stark Carpet
Sofa is in an antique linen velvet
Chairs are in velvet from Schumacher
Pillows are silk velvet in Basket weave pattern from Schumacher
Also:
We renovated the space…the stairs used to flow straight ahead into a small hallway.
We took 3 rooms and converted them into a Master Suite and needed the small hallway…
So, we changed the direction of the stairs into the library and re created the archway. Cool.
