You Make Me Blush!

I am more than a little obsessed with this room, this color, this feeling, this everything right now.

Something in me is shouting to paint my Master Bedroom walls the color of the bench fabric.  Not too pinky, not too peachy,  but just the lightest side of it…

I have silk taffeta window drapery the color of fog being sewn by my workroom and my bedding is all creamy.

And I’m toying with the outrageous idea of antique silk velvet in apricot for a chair.

Mr. V sighs when he sees the paint samples go up on the wall…he knows we are in for a long haul ’til I get the color just right.  And my painter, well, he’s on speed dial since I think paint is one of the cheapest and fastest ways to breathe some life into the room.

This room has a wonderful feeling for me too.

Of course “blush and bashful” can be pretty terrible…unless your name is Shelby and these are your “signature colors”

Maybe I want to wake up inside of a sea shell…(although it would probably be cramped in there– Mr. V is 6′-5″) or maybe it’s because it’s about the most flattering color and who doesn’t want to look their best in their bedroom?

Maybe I just need a change.

So…as I start to mix my custom paints and go into “designer doing own room obsession”,

can I cheat a little and ask if you have a recommendation?

I’ll keep you posted!

Enjoy,

  1. My only recommendation is that you do something you love and are excited about. If you do, you will love it and enjoy it and breath a sigh of relief and “happy to be home” every time you walk into your room! We spend almost half our day in our bedrooms, I say its no holds barred!! If there is one room I will do everything my little heart desires its the bedroom and kitchen…for all the time we spend there. If I did do a color like this, I think pale is the key…otherwise it could look too peachy, but the right color is spectacular and EVERYONE looks better in a blush toned room!

Oh no..well hopefully you don’t end up having to repaint 3 times. :)
    That is a gorgeous room!

What a beautiful bedroom. I have recently inherited a suite of French boudoir furniture in celadon with gold leaf. I is going to require serious editing for me to use this incredible gift. I am looking for a background, since my Palladian Blue is just too dark, I have a lovely cherry fireplace mantel in the room. So I am anxious to see your choices. All this could easily be too much.

    mixing paints?……smiles

  6. We like to test a spot and live with it for a week of so. If you love it, do it. If you paint it and don’t like it….just repaint it. Our poor husbands.
