Well, I’m back on the grid (boooo) and off to Kohler, Wisconsin for several days! And if the name of the town sounds familiar it’s because it is the home and birthplace of Kohler plumbing.
I am the guest of Ferguson and Kohler where I will happily stay at the 5 star American Club Resort, take a factory tour and indulge in spa treatments and healing waters of the Kohler Experience!
When I return, I will give you a full report!
For now…here are some pics from my trip to NYC for BlogFest 12.
The ELLE DECOR Modern Life Concept House was a treat. They had a nice reception for us and a sneak peek before it actually opened.
Anthony Todd’s Great Room:
Loving the giant wish bone:
Sherrill Canet’s Kitchen and Dining Room:
Really love the wallcovering:
Why do I always take pictures of food? I like the succulents as garnish!
Adorable Lee Kleinhelter’s Sanctuary:
Love the black and yellow and the stylized brassy sea urchins on the wall!
Colorful Master Bedroom by Christopher Coleman:
Michael Tavano’s Outdoor Terrace:
If you want to see more, visit the house at 425 West 53rd Street in NYC. The proceeds benefit Free Arts NYC, an organization that connects volunteers with underserved children and families and helps them realize their potential through the development of life skills.
Back to the really important things…like my hair. Have you ever gone through a period where you look at pictures and say what the heck? (I say worse but my parents read this blog).
An example of the terrible hair syndrome….
Charlotte Moss and I at the cocktail party at the Kips Bay Showhouse:
Note to self…Never, ever, ever try to straighten my hair when it’s raining. EVER.
Chatting it up with Thom Filicia (who is very funny) at the Savant cocktail party. These pictures are BRUTAL! Where is Kyan Douglas and Carson Kressley when I need them? My Kenneth Cole blouse has a snake skin print that you can’t see because all you see is my black cami underneath. Oh the horror.
Anywho..please tell me you have had a moment like this!
More to come later.

Had to include a pic of the Beans as she uncovered buried PIRATE TREASURE on the beach. Mr. V and I buried a bunch of cheap jewelry and fake gold coins, then marked “X”s on top and told her we just saw some pirates running down the beach. She told EVERYONE that she had hit the jack pot.
She’s still wearing one of her “finds” hours later! By the way, does anything make a four year old happier than glow sticks on the beach at night? (Besides buried treasure…)
Off to the Midwest…yay Kohler!

Hey-
When at Kohler –check out the Jonathan Adler colored sinks–let me know what you think!
I can relate to the hair!
You crack me up! My hair freaks out too in the rain, not a good look for me either. How is it that I live in Seattle? Ha! Love your time at the beach with Beans. Truly melts my heart.
Amy,
It was so wonderful to meet you in person!!!
You look fab….we were all struggling with humidity and challenging hair!
Have the best time in Kohler…can’t wait to hear what you find.
Safe travels.
xoxo Elizabeth
I just wanted to say that I LOVE the sea urchins . . . and my hair is a total frizz fest when it rains.
