How Do Designers Pick Rugs For Clients?

….We ask our dogs to choose!

Digs

Kidding.

But any designer who has a dog in the office knows the smart dogs always pick the right choice.

As some of you know, my beloved Digby Lee (bestest dog evah) passed away March 16th and there have been a lot of changes around this office!  We are pretty busy and it was clear that I needed some more help.  So along came…

Ozzie!

No, I didn’t get a dog for myself yet…

This is Bonnie’s Dog.  Who is Bonnie you ask?

Bonnie is my Mother in Law who recently came to work for me!

How did that happen?

Well, she recently moved here (yay!) and we renovated a home for her.  We blasted bathrooms, blew up the kitchen etc.  (We need to photograph and put it on here soon).

Anywho.  She LOVED the process.  And not just the fluff and puff…(we are in the midst of furniture selections and window treatments). She was great with handling my sub contractors, enjoyed picking all the selections with me (tile, plumbing, cabinetry etc) and coordinated a lot of details…

I needed an assistant (we call her “the coordinator”) and she wanted to help.  So, you might get to meet her on a job site or on one of our many travels.

Welcome Bonnie!

This is Bonnie and I in Puerto Vallarta laughing hysterically (and holding onto each other for dear life) as we try to cross a swinging bridge in a busy part of town.  The townspeople behind us couldn’t understand why we were laughing since they cross it every day to go to their various workplaces.  I couldn’t understand how they can cross a bridge like that every day and NOT laugh.

Our driver took our picture–I almost didn’t make it (wink) I was laughing so hard.

I imagine it will be a lot of this.  Swinging bridges or not.  We laugh a lot.

Ozzie likes to get up on the work table (pardon the mess, we are working on a large project)…

He’s a very good judge of rugs…”What’s that Oz, you like the grey over the tan?”

And even though I’m not ready for my very own pooch…I welcome Ozzie and his awesome dog energy to liven up the place.

I wish you lots of laughs in your office today!
