Pantone Color’s of Spring 2013 were present and accounted for at Fall 2012 High Point Market.
One of my favorite stops is the Hickory Chair Showroom. I specify Hickory Chair furniture for my clients because it’s not only well made (in the USA) but also because of their relationship with interior designers and the trends that drive the industry.
As an interior designer, I am often asked what the latest color trends are. At Market the colors were all over the map but a couple of colors truly stood out to me and were well represented in the Hickory Chair showroom.
Monaco Blue is an old world color that I happen to like very much.
However, when it was announced as one of Pantone’s colors, some fashion bloggers and color trenders seemed bored in comparison to last year’s exciting Tangerine.
There was nothing boring about Suzanne Kasler’s use of it in her space at Hickory Chair. It was fresh, crisp and breezy.
I was able to catch Suzanne in her space…
Always great to chat with Suzanne and I had the pleasure of having dinner with her last year.
I love the color bands on the drapery panels!
I think my favorite item is the new twist on her Campaign desk. Fresh white lacquer with silver hardware.
Another of Pantone’s Spring 2013 color is Poppy Red..
Red has been used of late as more of an accent…
But in Alexa Hampton’s space in the Hickory Chair showroom it was the main event.
Bold, rich, warm and inviting.
I would expect nothing less from Alexa who is known for her stylish interiors and great sense of humor.
She is one of my design crushes and always makes time to chat even amongst a throng of media.
Here is our self portrait…you know- those pictures you take with your arm extended.
That never turn out.
Red painted walls adorned with nailhead trim tape…BANG! And I saw a lot of feathers at Market–mostly framed.
Alexa’s Figure Eight chair got a make over!
And my favorite detail- The Greek Key Arm and the classic fluted leg on her new chair. Fantastic!
Red Velvet pillow- Get over here!
I adore the new striped fabric too.
